Why start a blog?
There are two main reasons that motivate people to start a blog. The first one is to find a “job” that has no limit of success, a personalized work balance, and the opportunity to stay at home. The other reason is the opportunity to teach and share your passion, tricks, and things that make daily tasks easier and quality of life better. It is also a great opportunity to connect with others that share the same interest.
Starting a blog was one of the best choices I have made. It helps me to prioritize my life the way I want to (being there for my kids) while I am still able to help support the family financially.
Another great reason I chose to start a blog is that I have a passion/purpose besides being a wife and a mom; that is my own success which motivates me and gives me confidence.
What to do before starting a blog
You should really think about what you want to write about. Are you going to write about a lot of different things to establish a general lifestyle blog? Or do you want to be an expert in one or two niches and stand out as an authority?
Ask yourself: What is my passion? What do I really want to focus on? What products am I already using that help me with my brand? It is a good idea to reflect what your passion is beforehand, because you will spend a lot of time thinking and writing about it!
Next: Think about your blog’s name. Some bloggers simply use their actual name.com but you can come up with something catchy that will represent your brand and help people remember your site. You can get some inspiration from other bloggers too.
Some people write up articles before they start their blog, so that once the blog is up and running they already have a good amount of material. This is helpful because when readers come to your blog they can click around and have more to explore.

Siteground vs. Bluehost
If you don’t know what I am talking about, there are many hosting companies out there that you can start a blog with. I have tested Bluehost and Siteground so far and they are both pretty good, but I do have a favorite. I prefer Siteground hosting, because it sped up my page which helped me to keep my readers on my blog. If they have to wait too long, they will leave the page quickly.
Another reason why I like Siteground is because I had ZERO downtime compared to Bluehost, as my page was down at least 1-2 times a month.
Downtime just means that your page doesn’t work for a few minutes, but that is bad because you could lose readers and credibility. It is just not professional when your page is wacky like that.
Since switching to Siteground I have seen a rise in pageviews which automatically increased my number of email subscribers and blogging income. Both providers do have great customer service and pricing (they both start at 3.95 a month). You can read the full Bluehost tutorial HERE
