Are you looking for healthier dessert recipes?
During fall and winter time we usually eat more sweets and desserts. From Halloween, to Thanksgiving, to Christmas, there are many opportunities to eat snacks, treats, cakes, and pies.
That’s where the healthy pumpkin donut recipe comes in. You can make this snack for any fall or winter occasion, they don’t contain any fillers, preservatives, questionable sweeteners, they’re gluten free, dairy free, and they are low in sugar and you can even make them oil free.
These healthier donuts also contain a little fiber, protein, and omega 3. One donut contains about 8 g of added sugar, therefore the donuts don’t taste super sweet. They taste more like a pumpkin bread or coffee cake, not like a pumpkin pie.
They make a great healthy snack alternative and are also easy to prepare. These pumpkin donuts are very similar to the vegan carrot donuts and easy to adjust. You can add more or less spice (I use this pumpkin pie spice), sugar, and substitute the flour.
Additionally you can make your own glaze with powdered sugar and water or almond milk. To do so, use 2-3 tablespoon powdered sugar and add just a little drip of almond milk. Stir with a fork to combine. It should come out in a thick paste. You can add more powder or more milk to change consistency.
