Before you get grossed out and leave this page, let me explain!

I am on the 21 day fix maintenance plan right now, using the containers to create a healthy 2000 calorie meal plan.  Searching for a way to add protein to my diet (on a budget), I found the 21 day fix vegan food list.

In my previous meal plans I used dairy and other animal products to fill the red container and now I try to use legumes (or quinoa) as my protein source.

Lentils are a great protein source and you won’t taste it much in your oatmeal. The stevia and chocolate make this healthy oatmeal bowl taste like a dessert.  You can top it with the fruit of your choice.

I usually chop the fruits while the oat mix is in the microwave ( I use these oats) and altogether it takes me 3 minutes to prepare this healthy breakfast.

The breakfast will give you energy, help you stay full for a long time, and reduce any sweet cravings you might have during the day. It is the perfect pre- or post workout meal.

Cocoa Powder and the 21 Day Fix

You might be asking what container is the cocoa powder and the stevia. To be honest I did not count these two, because stevia is free of calories anyway and this cocoa powder is only 10 calories per tablespoon.

So I only added 10 calories to the meal, plus the cocoa powder comes with health benefits; It is rich in minerals and fiber, and contains a small amount of caffeine which will give you an energy boost.

Chocolate Lentil Oats with Apples (21 day fix, VEGAN)

One serving equal 320 calories or 1 yellow, 1 red, 1 purple container.

Yields: 1 bowl

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat quick oats
  • 3/4 cup lentils (cooked)
  • 1 small apple diced
  • 1 T cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • optional: 1 packet stevia
  • water (about 1/2 to 3/4 cup)
  1. Put everything but the diced apple into a bowl and mix. You should be able to see a little bit of the water on top.
  2. Then put the bowl into the microwave for 1 minute.
  3. Stir (add more water if desired) and top with diced apples (or fruit of choice).
  • Total time: 5

  • Protein: 18 grams
