Tailwind or BoardBooster? Here is the real difference.
Tailwind or BoardBooster. Which one is the better Pinterest marketing tool, and how you can use both.
Trying to figure out if you should automate your pinning strategy? Or are you not sure how to pick between Tailwind or BoardBooster?
Many of you have asked what program I would suggest to automate pins. I have tested two programs and came to the conclusion that they really are similar.

Tailwind or BoardBooster: Here are some differences
Boardbooster lets you select individual settings for each board that you want to pin into. Let’s say group board A allows 7 pins a day and group board B allows only 2. You would set up your source, the time and frequency, and you are set.
Then you can select where to pin into your own group boards, you can select special pinning rules in your campaigns (like the top pins into the top boards explained in the previous lecture).
Boardbooster also provides the Looping tool which allows you to re-pin older pins back to the top of the board, so your new followers can read your old content too.
With Tailwind, on the other side, you can only create one pinning schedule for ALL pinning activities. Whenever you schedule a pin it will just drop to the next free spot in the schedule.
This means you can’t really choose which ones you want to pin more often and which ones less often.
Also, you have to fill the schedule NEW EVERY TIME IT RUNS OUT. BoardBooster just keeps repeating the schedule, which makes it less work especially when you are new to blogging and have so much to focus on.
On the positive side, Tailwind partners with Pinterest which means the pins scheduled through Tailwind will rank better and will be seen more often (this is at least what it should mean)
So what is the best decision?
BoardBooster’s plan starts at $5 per month, Tailwind’s plan starts at $10. BUT Tailwind will give you unlimited pinning for $119 for one year.
You should start out with the $5 BoardBooster plan. I had great results with this program starting out. Shortly after installing Google Ads I purchased BoardBooster, set up the strategy and immediately made more ad income. I invested $5 and made $10, invested $10 and made $24…
Once you have applied to more group boards, created more content to pin, and learned a good pinning strategy, you can switch to (or add) Tailwind. Because Tailwind is wayyy cheaper with a lot of pins.
I pin between 130 and 160 A DAY (most of this goes into group boards). Now imagine with BoardBooster I would have to pay $50 a month and with Tailwind $10 (unlimited pinning when purchased the whole year for $119).
I switched to Tailwind after one year of blogging and therefore made enough money to purchase the whole year’s subscription.
BUT I still kept BoardBooster (the $5 plan) for the looping function and to pin some of my pins into my general boards.
Have I seen a difference after the switch to Tailwind?
Not really. My pageviews grow every month on a steady scale. I had a couple of pins go viral, but I also had that happen using Boardbooster.
I was worried that pinning with Tailwind would reduce my pageviews, but I can honestly say now that in my experience it doesn’t matter which program you will pick. This is a matter of how you want to invest your money, and which program is easier to use for you.
You can sign up for a free trial month for both programs and make a decision afterwards, or PIN THIS for later.
